Sanctuary
I'm afraid one day you'll come ravaging through
like a tornado or an earthquake
and throw my sanctuary into chaos,
my shaggy carpet and my bed like raft floating away
my organized desk and my bookshelf and posters on the walls
I'll be terrified
my face sticky and hot with tears
and my sanctuary destroyed, a mess,
no longer a safe haven for me,
I'm afraid you'll be enraged,
And throw yourself into my sanctuary.
