My Words
Some write to impress. And others to express.
I just write because it’s what I do.
They say “words are like weapons.” And I do agree.
But I usually lay down arms, and write, carefree.
Unless my words have to be weapons,
In which I pack them with metaphors, idioms, and rhymes.
Those are, I find, strong armaments in worded, warring, times.
But in more preferable occasions, of peaceable nature,
I find words to be like the breath that I breathe.
Serving me, naturally, with gentle, soundless, ease.
Some write to impress. And others to express.
I just write because it’s what I do.
I wonder where my words will take me next.
And I wonder what they’ll do…
