A Fire
The blue flames dance behind the glass, warm on my hand
In a circle they form
They are like a ghost, translucent, weakly blown with a breath of air
Smoke, clogs my throat
Eyes open wide, burning in awe
The lone three flames are captivating
The wood and coal is just a stem on a flower
And goes unnoticed
The flames are now bigger than life
The cat, now the lion in my eyes
The subtle fireworks of cracking and popping erase the rest of my disappearing thoughts
The lush low lying grass,
Destroyed by crawling flames craving power
The Yacolt burn is diminutive
Desire steals the sliver of hope and the fire triumphs
My fire conquests
