Apparently I need a longer title than "lies"
tell me a lie because
I can't bear to hear
that the world is over
and you're not coming back.
I don't want to live in a hell,
where fiends snatch at my breast
and the damn devil himself
knows not to hand me
the naked child of truth
because it's covered in burns
and scars, yellow and green,
black and blue, bruised inside
and out, spitting vomit and spilling
pus out of the wounds. you can't see
both of the baby's eyes because
one isn't an eye at all, it's just
a dark hole into remembering
and reliving, just a cavern into
screams and sirens and burning
tears, into scars that don't fade
and cuts that won't stop bleeding
because my head is rolling on the floor
and I can see it going towards the door
to that damn abyss
the abyss we call heaven
which is really just hell by another name,
and I can't live here
surrounded by s*** and manure
the feces of a long dead bird
the corpses of my mother and father
my baby left to bleed and rot
so cry me a thousand tears
because this ain't getting
any cleaner and my wounds
just keep digging deeper
I want something that
he can't give me so
I'll just lie and lie and lie
and let that lie become me
until I'm nothing more than a
sketch or a silhouette
or a shadow on that
grey asphalt road.
