to love a world why
do you think it strange?
have you been a place
and found home
in the shivering aspen?
in the graceless fisherman face?
I know the hurt
in the fire
that burned in the
lighthouse that
left us out here in the dark.
But I see this brand-new and beautiful
children of far away and he has shown me
what he knows is home.

This is for a foreign exchange student my school had this year that we're all very sad to see leaving. He really found home here in Alaska.
