It's different for me.
They all walk the hallways with a certain level of
Composure.
They laugh, but not too loud.
They cry, but shed no more then a couple of silent tears.
They walk, but not too fast.
They blend together,
A sea of half-smiling faces, jeans, t-shirts, and Sperrys.
It’s different for me.
I walk the hallways with a certain level of
Insanity.
I laugh so hard it turns into an obscene cackle.
I cry so much my eyes puff up.
I dance through the hallways instead of walk through them.
I stand out,
A girl singing, humming, or talking in weird voices.
It’s different for me.
They walk the hallways with a certain level of
Terror.
They laugh, but not too loud,
Because they are scared.
They cry, but shed no more than a couple of silent tears,
Because they are scared.
They walk, but not too fast,
Because they are scared.
They blend together,
Because they are scared.
They are scared of being themselves.
It’s different for me.
I walk the hallways with a certain level of
Terror.
I laugh so hard it turns into an obscene cackle,
Because I am scared.
I cry so much my eyes puff up,
Because I am scared.
I dance through the hallways instead of walk through them,
Because I am scared.
I am scared of being one of them.
It’s different for me.
They are afraid to stand out.
I am afraid to blend in.
They are afraid they will lose their place.
I am afraid I will lose myself.
They are afraid they will lose their friends.
I am afraid I will lose my friends.
They are afraid they will be like me.
I am afraid I will one of them.
It’s different for me.
