Broken Glass Mending Broken Glass
You strive to change this world.
But so many worlds have been
Touched already,
By your gentle, broken soul.
You show me that each face
Has a name and a bottomless
Yearning for affection;
A love that won’t ever leave.
You have opened my selfish
Eyes to the pieces of people,
Shattered at my feet.
And yet most of the shards belong to me.
I watch the bleeding hearts
Mend slowly with every
Word
You didn’t know you said.
When I’m burned out, like
A bonfire after the party’s over,
I witness the Savior light
Your heart with the old ashes.
Once a gentle, broken soul,
Has now become
A phoenix raised to life,
By our Savior.
A whole, and graceful girl
Has unknowingly
Touched
My gentle, broken soul.
