Regretful Sorrys
I can’t remember,
The last time we laughed,
I don’t remember,
The last time you listened,
All I remember,
Is the last time you cried,
Because of everything,
I did wrong,
And sometimes,
I wish I could go back,
Back to innocence,
Back to trust,
Back to laughter,
Before this,
And change it all,
I would tell myself,
That I was wrong,
And to just listen to you,
That you weren’t lying,
And I would tell myself,
That you wouldn’t be the same,
But I can’t,
I’ll say I’m sorry,
But to you,
It’s just another empty promise,
Because all my apologies from before,
Were all lies,
That’s where your wrong,
Because I’ve regretted,
Every sorry I’ve said,
Because I had to say them in the first place.
