Guess Not
I thought I could trust
our perfect kind of love.
You lied when you said
we'd always be together.
I felt completely safe
each time you held me close.
You lied when you swore
you'd never break my heart.
I thought you needed me
the way I needed you.
You lied when you let me think
that you needed me as well.
I could have lived in ignorance,
and this wouldn't have to hurt.
I hate your brutal honesty.
You say we'll never have the right kind of love.
You say you're just to cold to care for me.
You say you tried to control yourself,
and that I was just a mistake.
Don't speak. I can't handle hearing the truth.
I guess I understand why the others live in denial.
