Arms Open
You could stroke away
Each stroke precisely
And still
You won’t paint
The right
Me
Each side of me a certain
Color tone
Each side YOU see me with my
Shield up
Not my arms open
But my arms are open
Wide wide open
And my smile is going
From ear to ear
Because you’re right here
I don’t get it
Do clouds cover up your sight?
You see a different picture
Me with full armor
Not wanting any affection
Well
That’s
wrong
So paint me with my arms open
My huge smile
My big hair
Because that’s who I am
Not the blurred version you see behind the clouds
Don’t paint me with a blindfold this time
Paint me for who I am
Paint me with my arms
Open
Because that is me
Even though I may be scared
Paint me with my arms
Wide open
