If Life Were A Movie
If life were a movie, I would be the superhero
The epitome for victorious good
Over the abortive efforts evil
I would swoop in to wherever I was needed most
Cape billowing in the breeze
As I face my nemesis with a fearless gaze
With courage mightier than an iron fist
With perpetual stamina
And an inability to know the meaning of failure
I would save the day without breaking a nail
I would be honoured, trusted and admired
If life were a movie, I would be the jester
A lesser, albeit indelible role
The comic relief for the rigid protagonists
I would appear during moments of intense sobriety
Smile shining brightly upon my ruddy face
As I fix my leads with a mischievous wink
With a quick-witted mind and a tongue
Utterly lawless in its facetious pinnacle
Indefatigable in its determination to evoke laughter
I would deliver my jests to favourable acclaim
My company would be enjoyed, wanted and gratified
If life were a movie, I would be the rebel
The dissenter to the oppressions of the majority
The maverick in leather jackets and scuffed converse
I would lounge casually in any position
Expression of boredom painted across my face
As I pity the cowards who sold their souls to society
With an insatiable thirst for individuality
With a free spirit, a wild nature
And a blatant disregard for the authority
I would live my life to the fullest
I would be prominent, envied and respected
If life were a movie, I would be the romantic heroine
The troubled young queen
Suppressed by the tribulations of life
I would scale these foreboding mountains
Determination radiating from every fibre of my being
As I work tirelessly to achieve my desired goals
With emotions adhering dynamically to my sleeves
With colossal passion for my treasures in life
And an uncanny ability to entice the men I meet
I would merit my own happily ever after
I would be valued, praised and loved
If life were movie, I wouldn't have need for cinema
It would be simply be a tiresome reflection
Of what my own existence was and would be
But life is not a movie
There are no eternal heroes, no definite villains
There is no script, no camera
No director to correct every problem
Or offer infinite scraps of advice
There are no take twos
There are only actors
Those who borrow used lines
And those who write the script for themselves
