Societal Infection
The thoughts I have, be sure,
Are indicative of infection,
Wrongs from outside quickly
Seeping in.
Emotional diffusion, sweetness to be soured,
Vibrance dampened violently,
As harmful thoughts and longings
Enter in.
A crisp and clean, my soul,
Is folded and hidden away,
Underneath perception's rule, begetting
Only sin.
Though all of us were children once,
Empty of evil impulse,
But if we linger long enough, society
Always wins.
