Patchwork and Lace
I'm patchwork and lace
Easy to tear
It happens everyday
I mend myself with colorful patches
And stitch them together with lace
You pick and pull
But my stitching is so tight nothing escapes
Memories and emotions locked away
I'm done with the words
They don’t have a effect on me like they used to
Your actions can cut deep
But I mend myself before you can see
Hands sore from mending
You don’t give up
And I continue to patch my heart
Soon my skin is patch work and lace
And slowly courage builds inside my mess of a heart
And no matter how much you pick and pull
I wont tear
I'm proud of my work
And the only thing I left room for is laughing and enjoying life.
