Plummet
All I remember now
Is the endless darkness
And a feeling that my
Plummet would never end
A burning pain from
The blood pouring out of me as
The muscles strained to
Lift me up with wings
Ripped out, I could no
Longer fly. But I couldn’t
Stop myself from trying
As I fell down forever
I could only stare up
Into the circle of light
Where I fell from
A receding view of perfect
Futilely struggle to go up
Wanting to return
Reaching for a paradise
Now forever closed to me
