"Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present." --Marcus Aurelius

blind, like
beautiful
like shooting stars
incredible
how just a little
silver
goes a very little way
scared to think the
smallest thought like
fire’s fear to
burn too hot
and writing lies on
paper
just to watch them sit and play
(I softly lay the guilt
upon the dreams we’d barely built)
blow away the dirt and dust
and remedy the broken trust
and all we find among the rust
is happy tears and gentle lust
and like the sky your friendship
lies upon me heavy in the
night when I can’t think of
how to stop you worming in
my fragile mind
and how I ruined it with my
greed, I always find a way
to need more love than you could
ever give me
(I still believe in happy endings)
and yeah, it’s still an end
and ends are no friends of mine
for what we lack, we still make up
with lies and borrowed time
but I’m
blind, like
beautiful
like shooting stars
incredible
how just a little
silver
goes a very little way
in this great space

In a way, I guess, we really are like those fiery jutted pieces of silver. In a sea of void, there's loneliness and longing, a want to love and be loved, but also a fear of the unknown, the unknown of that complicated emotion which no one master or fully understands in one lifetime. I love how your poetry always makes me think about Life and all its little details. 5/5
