The Edge
I'm at the edge of the cliff.
About to jump.
You run to come save me,
But it's not enough.
I look at you one last time.
Hope to God that you'll be fine.
But that's why I creep closer to the edge.
No more pain.
Nothing to gain.
Maybe if I pretend to slip.
With my eyes shut
And my arms around my hips
You won't be able to grab my hand
And pull me up,
because I'll already be dead.
