Better Days
Looking back at my past, so very dark,
I see my wounds, and who left the mark,
the loss of each, was the loss of myself,
I became a part of the dark, lost to lights health,
I believed that nothing could bring me back,
that my world would remain forever black,
I lost sight of everything I had gained,
and soon, only my feeling of hate remained,
I was lost, hoping I was never to be found,
In the night, my own bonds I had bound,
I once knew light, but wanted it no more,
what was to gain, another loss to hurt my core?
I came into the light once again,
wondering to myself, where have I been,
I thought I would never again fall,
but once more, loss took its great toll,
I believed myself healed, I thought that was true,
maybe it was, but my heart split in two,
I came to love a women named Vallarie,
she brought me to the light, mad me free,
she became a part of everything inside,
and when she was lost, my life became a wild ride,
I fell harder, faster, and further than ever,
I thought I was done, always and forever.
Now that some time has passed,
I realise that no night can ever last,
To go back to the light, simply let go,
Leave your past behind, and soon you will know,
come with me, journey back into the light,
learn to feel again, to become alright,
learn to resist the dark that would kill others,
find survivors like you, become there brothers,
band together, and help those on nights road,
become survivors of the night,
learn the code,
teach those you have helped of our ways,
spread the light, help every soul to better days.
