There's a Mirror in the Room
There’s a mirror in the room
It masks your figure behind it
Tall and heavy, like an unmovable boulder.
The mirror turns its face towards me
I stare at my reflection
and I am reminded of everything
that happened between us,
the bittersweet memories
that I want to stuff in a shelf in the corner of my mind
Nowhere to escape, nowhere to hide
from the reflection that looks me in the eye
For every time I look at you,
I look at myself.
