Silent Screams
Will there ever come a day
When I won’t shy away
From the hands of another
Be it friend
Or be it lover
Cringe from the touch
Run from the feeling
The sting of the nerves
I would wrap myself
In a cocoon of words
To avoid having to feel
Ever again
Maybe someday
Someone will find it in themselves
To find me in the shadows
And to tell me
That everything will be okay
I look forward to such an occasion
Unlikely as it may be
But as for now
I am frozen
And I am flying
And nothing is the same
