Favorite Quote:
&quot;Thou! thy truest type of grief is the gently falling leaf.&quot;<br /> -Edgar Allan Poe

I walk on you, everyday, to school.
You must surely be a fool.
You never grumble, groan, or complain,
Though surely you must be in pain.
All those feet, night and day,
You hold them up, you are the way.
If only I had a friend as constant as you,
As brave, as loyal, as constant, as true.
But only you, sidewalk, will hold me straight,
Will show me the way, will take my weight.
But you shall only hold the pounds.
What friend of mine will know my bounds?

The author's comments:
I see footprints on the sidewalk every day, whether dirt smudges or those that are in the concrete itself. I always wonder who made them, where they were going, where they were coming from. But today I started to imagine what it would be like to be the sidewalk and have to carry all those people.
