The Cold Crept In
The cold crept in
One dark, lonely night.
My heart was broken,
No will left to fight.
It stole my senses,
Passing through each aching crack.
I felt defenseless,
No use in coming back.
I lie there paralyzed,
Fear no longer existent.
As it sinks in I realize,
This decision is permanent.
Now I start to slip away.
I feel warmth on my skin
Just like on a sunny day
A sensation I'll never have again.
My vision blurs,
My lights turned out.
One last thought begins to stir,
This is now my final route.
