Love and Warmth
You get used to the silence
The louder it becomes.
As ghosts settle
Into the space that surrounds,
The dreary moments,
Now routine,
The grow.
It’s comfortable.
Lying in a field of daisies,
My corpse rots and
Marries the soil,
Becoming as one.
The hunt for pleasantries
No longer interest me.
My soul searches for
Unparalleled love.
Fingers drape loosely,
The stem of the daisy,
Its grace and endless beauty
Stretch out of
My reach.
Solitude and separation
Steady me in my new found
Loneliness.
Dust and emptiness,
My closest companions.
