Whispers
Whispers suddenly
Aren't whispers anymore
It's the shouting and yelling
That become soft and quiet
Like night
They're peaceful
Natural
Like light
And breathing in and out
Never will the children hear
Another slight and precious word
All that's left
Are the loud and obnoxious discussions
The fighting and glares
Sweep around the floors
Like a mist
Or dry ice
It swirls up
And everybody breathes it
They turn to dark
And black and silver
Gone is the innocence
Away is the
Daylight
