Footprints and Me
Water splashing, smooth and calm
Gentle breeze through a single palm
Footprints, my own, are gathered there
To leave, the thought, I cannot bear
No flowers, no trees, no friends of my own
Only me and my footprints here alone
Famine and thrust are things to ignore
When there is me and the ocean shore
One day, someday I may go
But until the time, I do not know
Moon and the stars wave to me here
Watch me walk, as the sun sees me tear
Paradise Island I’ll always be
Only my footprints and solitaire me
