The Dance Hall Has Emptied
The dance hall has emptied,
No one there but him.
They were all taken away,
The air that was once full of heavy breathing and music,
Now seems dry and dusty.
He starts playing
Knowing it means nothing.
No one is there to hear him,
The air stays old.
He looks downwards in sorrow
The notes continued outwards,
Until he hears the clicks of heels.
He looks up
She’s there, grinning.
He places the guitar down
And jumps off stage
They’re lost in the last deep note.
Hanging in the air
And each others arms.
