Bella's Birthday Poem
Bella Chance,
how far we've come,
from shaky hands,
wavering pens,
and the scratch-scratch on a notebook
with chipping sparkly plastic on the cover.
Full to the brim with conversations,
secrets, revolutions, changes,
cowardice, modesty, passion
newly manifested infatuation.
All the numbers we've gone through,
2 (us) 4 (notes) 6 (girls)
3 (choices)5 (boys) 7 (members)
12 (pages) 14 (lines) 16 (note)
We are from
Yours and Mine, Perfect Storm,
my crazy, fantastic fanfic.
from huge amounts of laughs,
100,000 words,
from complaining,
and wishing,
and dreaming,
and telling,
and comforting.
No matter what I did,
you always knew what to do.
I always knew what it meant,
and together,
we always knew what was right.
Now you are older,
wiser,
gladder,
and more careful.
Those things have changed
for the better
But other things have stayed exactly the same
you are still the
addicting,
wonderful,
gorgeous,
interesting,
deep,
talented,
kind,
understanding,
best friend I love.
you are 15 now,
and no matter what changes this year,
I will always be nearby,
pink pen, listening ear, and our notebook in hand.
If you are there,
stories, problems, wishes, dreams,
we get through them,
together,
forever.
