Blue tinted gloom

obscured sinuous contours
of marble staircase, of gallery frescoes
peopled
with angels and fabulous creatures.

through a palatial corridor
Sprawling round hall
Spiraling basilica shadows
pierced. by light.

A labyrinth

base to pinnacle
a beehive,
woven with
tunnels steps platforms bridges
presaged an immense library of seemingly impossible geometry.
A place of mystery, A sanctuary.

In this place
Every book,
Every volume,
a soul.
Every time
Eyes run down its pages
it’s spirit strengthens.

Here
Books no longer remembered,
Books lost in time,
live forever,
waiting.
