the little old lady with her birds
As I walked the wintery street
I see an old lady stumbling to her feet
I watched her with her little old teeth
Calling for some birds
Which are now on her feet
She crumbled some bread
And fed the birds with no relief
She whispered to the birds
Where am I to eat
Then she turned and seen me
I fell to my feet
She walked over to me and asked me
What is there to see
Well I have no warm
Clothes, no food you see
I said im sorry ma ’me
I’ll get out of your hair
She clenched her rotten teeth
Well can you spare some change
For a old lady like me
I pulled out a little quarter
Out of my pocket
And the little old lady danced with glee
Why thank you miss! Why thank you miss!
She shouted and pranced
Once again she whispered to the birds
Where am I to eat
The birds flew off
The little old followed behind them
There went the little old lady
With her birds
