The first step off the airplane.
A deep breath of icy New York air.
Immediately I miss you,
when I see your missed call.
For so many things in life,
like flying an airplane—
you need a plan.
I’m sorry to say
I couldn’t decide on one for us.
That airplane has taken off;
lost in the night sky.
