Hypocrisy
Notebooks stacked around me
Each telling me what I should and should not be
Closed eyes show me the truth
They harbor the secrets of my youth
Daddy doesn’t sleep anymore
Birds sit around me, one’s that once would soar
Pictures of myself ripped to nothing
Swimming to the top, air is that for which I’m struggling
Keep going, keep pushing, never stop
The abundance of lies make my mind throb
I fight for my own democracy
Something I wish for that could never be my own reality
Darkness and hatred begin to take holdNotebooks stacked around me

Something I wish for that could never be my own reality
Darkness and hatred begin to take hold
I am becoming society’s own twisted mold
My parent’s have taught me their ways of hypocrisy
I refuse to let them dictate my family tree
