In the Valley of the Nines
We have given the humanly desire to be turned out and seen
back to O, Nine. The interval had stripped my ribcage bare. I thought,
I can be bare for the rest, for so short a time before the bareness broke.
I wanted the wholeness back. I begged Nine-ah for the eights.
All my shoulders had were brimstone tens and an obligation to progress.
My rosy-cheeked child, progression was not known to you. So often have, I left you.
I want you to have left me too. I find you in wake and dust storm. If you leave me,
leave your valleys. Let them be my home.
