Paris
The hustle and bustle
Of the locals goes unseen
By the visitors from near and far
For they see only the majestic city.
Arc de Triomphe
Centered on a plat form
Of a merry-go-round
Of cars zipping by almost blind of it.
The Louvre
Home to over 35,000 artifacts
Paintings, sculptures
Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa priceless and immeasurable beauties
Notre Dame
182 years of architecture
Listen to the music
Of the glorious bells.
Place de la Concorde
Full of history,
And the pain, blood, tears
That have all been shed there.
Jardin des Tuileries
Place of beauty
Ponds and fountains,
And statues, although nudity does apply.
Sacre Coeur
A roman catholic church
Over a hundred years of beauty
Holds the place of the best view of the skyline.
Champs-Elysees
The ultimate shopping spot
Since 1616 created by
Mastermind Marie de Medicis.
Moulin Rouge
Has been a place of scandal
Full of love, lust, and excitement,
Men have visited the establishment since 1889.
Eiffel Tower
The landmark of the city
Or so they say,
Stands regally next to the Seine.
The French take pride in
These monuments, but
They seem to walk past
Blind in their own worlds.
Visitors try to absorb
The beauty with cameras and paintings,
Souvenirs they will hold dear
And show to all their friends.
