Change in life is never easy, but you have to learn to deal with it because life doesn't slow down for stragglers.

My little sister twirled a lock of golden hair,
And then she smiled up at me, though I did nothing but stand and stare,

"Big Sister, Big Sister, come and dance with me!"
So out we ran onto the canvas of the carpet and let go of everything,

We did not think about the suffering or the tears of the world,
But we simply focused on one fact: that we were beautiful girls,

She laughed and twirled her pretty white skirt just so,
And I had to laugh with her, just to try to not feel so goddamn low,

"I love you, I love you!" she squealed with delight,
But instead of shouting it back, I froze in a fright,

"What's wrong, dear Sister?" she asked in a whisper,
But I could think of nothing else to say, so I played the listener,

She accepted this silence with a sigh,
She knew what was on my mind,

"The world is not black and white," she recited,
And I listened intently to the words of the enlightened,

"There is much gray space," she continued, "Much to ponder, much to fear, but do not let one heartbreak cloud your sun and label your love as something to take," --she sighed-- "You do not deserve such a fate,"

I smiled and her eyes twinkled as I did,
I was cured of my sickness, at least it felt like it,

"Little Sister, you are wise," I told her,
And then we both laughed because I spoke like a small, polite child without the faintest idea of how to be riled,

But my heart was no longer drenched in sorrow,
My smile was no longer forced, but full, my lips puckered and waiting for a better Prince Charming to accompany me on my next course
