Should I Give You the Chance?
Rain. It falls and stays
On the world until sun rises
Above and devours it.
You are protected from the
Clouds that are releasing the
Wasted weight that was supposed
To be your strength.
Tears. Falls and disappears
Just as soon as it came.
Leaving my eyes and falling
In your heart.
Like a cloud releasing stress
Tears rush down my face.
Lighting and thunder should strike
But I can’t seem to get it out.
The salt finds your heart
Hoping you can help
Cure my soul as I let these
Tears fall. As I run away
From you and the hurt.
You don’t follow, that last tear
That was meant to send your
Cold and cruel heart the love
I felt when we first held hands.
You were supposed to hold me tight.
Tell me that you weren't ever
Going to leave me again.
But you don’t. And if you did.
Would I give you the next chance?
To hurt me again.
The rain stops.
My last tear drops.
The salt finally got
To your heart. I know
Because you’re here.
I turn away from you
My head lifted up.
The sun is back
And your last chance went
Out the door, like you should do.
