Talk About Hate
I want to talk about hate
About that it’s never ending
the hate turning
people into bullies
beating down on others
to make them feel higher
calling others crude
and derogatory names
I want to talk about
The feelings of the other person
sadness
loneliness
fear
that is deep inside
wrapped around each part
of the heart,
never letting it go
I want to talk about
The actions of the other person
how they always want to leave
get away from the hate
take the easy road out:
suicide
I want to talk about
How it won’t go away
The feeling of never being able to leave
Bu wanting nothing more
Than just that
Talk about the need
The need to talk
To tell others
And save them before
It’s too late
I want to talk about
How I am a survivor
A survivor of the hate
The pain
Of it all
I want to talk about
Saving the others
Showing them that it gets better
That there is hope
Talk about the freedom
From the hate
The prosecution
And indifference
I want to talk about
The hate
That it doesn’t go away
That it does get better
Talk about someone always being there
Someone that will listen to that hate
That you hear
Day in and day out
Talk about someone
Who tries to help
Those are the survivors
The ones who understand
The hate
The survivor in me
Will be there
In the crowd of hate
Along with the other survivors
Waiting to help you when needed.
