She thought the clock to be a Melancholy Heart
For every beat an unchanging TICK, to each tick an equal TOCK
Every second
Every minute
Every Hour
So was the journey she made with it
Watching its Long slender arms
Cast Long slender shadows across its face
She thought it to be a villainous grin
As if the clock meant her own demise
She bit her lip, and looked on unamused
The Clock ticked on

She looked on as if the walls held the answers
An intense stare, piercing at the least
Her gray opportune eyes becoming simple in the worst way
As if to Tear through time, with a single glance
And yet the clock ticked on

She laid still
A mere reflection of herself
A second
A minute
And she knew she was Fading away,
Claimed by a dream stricken silence
Her heartbeat a Melancholy Tick.
