Ketrah
My beautifully wrought mother
Facing pain and sorrow
Found herself with a gift
Nine months in the making.
A flower she knew
Could never blossom
To full beauty
In her care.
But in another's;
Oh how that baby's face shone
In the arms of a
New mother.
My mother watched
The beautiful baby
And knew she did
The right thing.
Giving life to a baby
And to a mother
