My city rooster
Wake up
Says the
Car
Blaring its noise
Honk, Honk, Honk
Awoken
Slowly, I crunch sleep
From
My languid eyes
I rub my hands
Back and forth
Freeing my vision
Of the previous
Night
Torpid no more
I swept the last,
Of the foregoing day
Away
With the
Sleep
That clung so tightly
To my lashes
The car still
Sounds
Announcing itself
Somberly to the world
My city rooster.
