Good Riddance, Earth
When simplicity,
Is blanketed by extravagance.
When intricacy,
Shadowed by cost.
When fads
Consume tradition
When a white flag,
Is no longer the sign of the lost.
When virginity
Is followed by striking astonishment,
When the worst worry of a leader,
Features the color of his skin,
When popularity
Roots from name brands
And no human being,
Even slightly fears the result of sin.
When joy,
In every case, is shaded by envy,
When the use of words
Is falsely trusted
When text,
Becomes a verb.
And when the severance of a human head,
Is weakened by “busted”.
When suicide… And sex… And weed,
Are advertised,
When half of the world’s population is at war,
When reality,
Is plausibly questioned
When you haven’t worked hard,
Without feeling sore
When optimism,
Is alien
When the broken hearts,
Are encouraged to write a song.
When education,
Is blinded by instincts.
None can deny how terribly,
We must have gone wrong…
