Life Goes On
I don’t know what I’m doing
Or who I am anymore
I built up my fortress
With you inside
The moat you constructed
Ensured I stayed
Even when
You tore my walls
You took my memory
Of the life before
Stabbed my heart
And crushed my soul
Life goes on
With every desire to gloat
I should’ve listen to them
When they told me to run
Far and wide
An inch or a mile
Just a simple spring breeze
To set me free
To look around
Without worrying
To have only a second
To breathe
I trembled every night
And shook through day
The pain is reason enough
To end a life
No ache
Miniature or immense
Amounts to the he**
That you put me through
Someway
Somehow
I will find a way
To truly live free
