The Mark You Made

She cut deeper,
her blood a dull crimson color,
Warm as it ran down her scarred wrist,
Dripping on the bathroom floor,
It felt so good --- so relaxing,
She didn't know why, but it was a release,
From all the pain and all the hurt.
She heard a silent noise and automatically knew,
Her boyfriend had walked through the door.
They both cried and apologized.
