I Lost My Mask
Coldness is how I learned to live.
I embraced it, because it numbed the pain.
Walking in the dark hid the scars in my heart.
That’s how it’s always been.
Around you I melted like ice
The mask outside became the mask within.
Then the more I knew you the more I got this impulse,
That with you I can take the mask off.
Lost in your smile,
Found in your arms.
How could I have been so afraid of this feeling?
I don’t believe in love, but in time,
I think you’ll be the only one who can change my mind.
