I'm from stuffed animals in my closet
From Molly Dolly Brittney Spears Cd's
I am from barbies in the messy playroom
And fantasy games in my bedroom
I am from pink peonies in the garden
Whose scent greeted me as I walked to school
I am from lava lamps and Saturday morning cartoons
From Buchs and Etchison
I am from big brown eyes and wavy hair
And from a long line of smokers
And a long line of alcoholism
I am from prayers before bed
I am from Charles Juneau and Alfred Dethleff
From corn fields and prancing deer
From hiding out during World War two
And from the founder of Juneau Alaska
From car trips to grandmothers house
I am from those moments when nothing was serious
When everything was funny
This is where I come from
