Window Blinds
"I love you...",
I suck the cool air in,
my heart rises to my throat,
"...Like a sister",
my heart,
a brick falls,
to the pits of my stomach,
I walk home,
my tears freezing to my face,
I change out of,
my carefully planned outfit,
wipe off the smeared make up.
My fingers spin down my play-list,
Pausing ever so briefly,
on Heartbreak,
then skip past to click on,
Dance Party,
I dance,
I plies,
I smile and sing,
Heartbreak is only a window,
in the house of life,
so shut the blinds,
and turn up the music.
