Soliloquy on Disappointment
Disappointment is the wrong shade of blue,
When the skies of magic azure,
Are reflected and seen
In the muddy-brown creek.
Disappointment is a song sung ten times,
With subtle demise
Of heavenly music remains,
Pretty chords and several refrains.
Disappointment is a beaming smile,
Of beauty and love a mile,
So full and so true, one has to stare,
Then see in those eyes a blank glare.
Disappointment is a saga that makes one live
In it while reading, while it still gives
Its splendor, but it can’t last forever, you see,
The last page was turned, yet questions do stay.
And today?
Disappointment was you.
