Tonight I ran…
The fastest I ever could. I ran until I could not breathe, I ran until I fell. I scraped my knee but got back up and continued running. I ran until one of my flip flops broke and some where between your house and my destination I lost the other one. I ran until I could feel my heart beat in my feet. I ran from the noise I heard; only to realize they were my thoughts. I ran until I was not scared of the dark anymore and then I walked. I walked and walked and walked. No thinking, barely breathing, mouth so dry from sucking in the cold night’s air. Something that started as a suggestion and joke tuned to me walking out of your life, not to look back. And the last thing that was said was, “That’s fine. Stop wasting my freaking time.”
