I thought it was goodbye
With nothing left to declare
Flowers left by the door
As we parted ways
"I'm sorry" left behind
Where all the memories grew
As the absence of realization
Dismissed any thoughts
Your spirit lingered
Entwined with mine
In an ongoing knot
Beautifully sound
Insight bound its way
As the steps slowed
Steady as the tears
Lips that found the way
To the one they were destined for
With every note of apology
