Daddy's Little Girl
I asked him for an apple…
He handed me an orange.
I asked him for a computer…
He handed me a book.
I asked him for a cell phone…
He said the mail was fine.
I asked him for some money…
He gave me some coupons.
I asked him for a truck…
He bought me a Saturn.
I asked him for a house…
He rented an apartment.
I asked him if I sparkled…
He told me I shined.
Now I see…
It would seem I like oranges more than I like apples.
It would seem books hold more information than computers ever will.
It would seem cell phones cause brain cancer.
It would seem my money goes farther with coupons.
It would seem Saturns are lower maintenance.
It would seem I like pools better than mortgage payments.
It would seem to shine is better when you live in a world full people who sparkle.
