I look in the mirror
I look in the mirror, and I don't see my reflection anymore.
I see a doll, painted up by time.
Beauty personified.
Everything I am not.
When I look closer, I can see the lie behind the mask.
Behind the pale orbs I can see the hatred and loneliness.
I can see all the tears suppressed behind the expensive mascara.
Tainting what little soul was left.
Behind the painted lips I can taste the poison.
Behind the perfect pearls I can feel the anger on my tongue.
I look in the mirror and I can see the truth behind the lie.
