A Little Something Before Bed
I lie here in bed wide awake,
hoping there's no tension in my mind I must break.
A realization that there is indeed,
it begins to pull and tugg at my mind until I bleed.
Like picking a scab that is my past,
I'm opening a wound that will always last.
What has been said previously hurts more then anything,
though you bring it up as if it means nothing.
But i feel it, yes, i feel it, cut so deep,
and that's why i'm awake and i can't get to sleep.
